life's a bed of roses

i finally get to show you my new hot piece- i bought this choker on sale for a ridiculously low price and  love it so much- it goes with almost everything. another key investment: a pair of zara waxed pants, this time in deep olive green shade. i took a close look at my recent outfits and realized i've been overusing some pieces but personally i see nothing wrong in investing into only a few items of clothing or jewellery every season (especially when you have to go low budget) and mixing them in every possible way, so you'll often see me wearing same piece over and over again which in my opinion only validates the purchase.

sunset boulevard

how do you feel about being alone, not necessarily single or lonely but on your own? i've always loved it and i always will. my mom told me it is so important to cherish the moments you have only to yourself. so i do and flaneur(ing) is then my fave activity, just sitting and observing people passing by, listening to the heartbeat of the place, feeling happy just to be alive and enjoying the time, thoughts, images, memories. it is then that i find beauty in everything i see around-fashionable people, streets, buildings, patterns, colors, shapes, words, sounds, smells.

bye bye birdie

my animal instinct was activated the moment i found this cool top with the bright macaw. consider this my brave step towards all those animal prints, lions, wolves and other wild species roaming free on most tops and t shirts everywhere i look. i liked it even more paired with my golden chunky neckless, the material has silky quality and there's a bonus-it will smoothly take me to fall and winter paired with a chunky woolen cardigan and a brown fringe bag. and a rule i follow: if you're on a tight budget make sure that stuff you buy transfer to other seasons.

if you feel it do it

i began to believe that where you live, or at least where you're staying at pretty much determines who you become and how you act and feel. for the past seven days i managed to see three art exhibitions, attend a lecture on constructivism in art, go to see a play and read two books (serge gainsbourg's biography is awesome,je t'aime moi non plus stuck in my head for days). all that with my 11 months old bundle of joy-my son-constantly with me so i call it a success. it's all thanks to this vibrant, stimulating and artistic city. here's the gist of yet another good day for you guys and thank you for your lovely comments.
ps. i'm obsessed with wearing two drop earrings in one ear. you like?

beige on gray

today some of my recent thoughts:

1.the pickier i become towards clothes the better and more comfortable i feel in the staff i mix (=reducing the number of items i have on, considerably reducing the amount of things i generally have in my closet, ALMOST [mind you this is the first time i used capital letters in this blog] getting rid of patterns) plus i stopped buying 'things-one-day-i-will-fit in' or things that are one-season-cheap.

2. less is more, i take off one more thing before i leave the house.

3. i am jewelry obsessed and my bling-blings are welcome to come in any colors, patterns, shapes and forms possible, so are shoes.

4. since there are very few clothes that actually fit my frame plus i gave up hope of growing a few more inches so i solemnly promised myself to design and produce some clothes, hopefully you'll see the outcome on this blog.

5. thrift stores are my heaven.

sharing is caring

only on holiday can you drink white wine at 11 a.m and have coffee after. time goes by really slowly, and deciding which spot to chose to dine in or what to wear seem to be the only worries. as a matter of fact, outfit options problems will outlive any other problems anyway. i can't seem to get enough of my straw fedora which basically goes with everything. here wearing: river island skirt, random grey tee, aldo fedora and my new vintage bracelet i bought in a tiny antique store.

acquainted with the night

went to see beksinsky's exhibition of photographs- some of his best black and white close ups and portraits with an elegant yet eerie sense of austerity. they only reminded me how powerful and unbeatable this color combination is-in photography, fashion, art and life. there's no maybe. there's boldness in simplicity. here: enjoying an evening out after jazz club date, wearing all black and white.

chocolos

i promised my friend to post some food stuff so here it is: these cute little ones could easily be mistaken for manolos  as far as the precision of  production but they'd last a little less longer :) i visited this impressive chocolate factory and totally indulged myself in chocolate craze. watch out belgium pralines, here we come! plus some random moments of the day, so many great things are happening right now. xoxo.
