black leather

this vintage leather skirt I was given as a gift  plus the outfits of Christine Centenera, the fashion editor for Harper’s Bazaar (Australia), sparked my love for leather. Centenera incorporates leather pieces in such a gracious manner, adding splashes of color and sky-high quirky heels, that I couldn't say no to leather in the middle of the summer.

bill, please

today i finally got to watch 'bill cunningham new york'  2010 documentary ( trailer here) about the veteran of new york fashion photography and the new york times photographer. the piece is amazing, not only because it reveals the random yet meticulous way cunningham photographs new yorkers-cycling through streets and chronicling style trends for his nyt column 'on the street' but also because for a millionth time i was reminded how i miss new york and how flamboyant, inspiring, vibrant and different the city is form the reality i live in. dream on baby, dream on.

all that glitters

summer has only just began, yet H&M has already published lookbook of their F/W collection. this will be a good one with all the splendor and richness of glittering fabrics, reference to baroque, and simplicity of forms. jewellery will be something to look forward to. of all jewellery pieces, chunky statement necklesses are my fave. can't wait for fall.

how high can you go?

my new deezee pumps just arrived, and they're totally awesome, amazingly high and...super comfy. They glitter like crazy so they definitely need to be balanced- I chose a slightly warmer look, with woolen pants and a sweater.

we're all stars

can't get enough of my new Mango dress which I can easily pair with my fave pair of Converse for a casual-comfy look and  dress it up a little by switching into heels in the evening, I totally love the pale pink/powder color and the soft sleek structure of silk which keeps skin nicely cool during the heatwave

turquoise infatuation

these glittery MLS1 Turquoise Pumps  by deezee have become my obsession, basically blue is not my color but recently I somehow end up craving  blue stuff, turquoise to be precise, you like?

color blocking

pure abstraction and simplicity were advocated  by De Stijl art movement (geometric shapes- rectangles, primary colors-mostly black and white) and depicted by movement's leading figure: Piet Mondrian.
art will always find its way in fashion and color blocking's is one way to put it. YSL, Calvin Klein, BCBG Max Azria are only a few examples and there are plenty more fish in the pond.
I like the proportions, simplicity and boldness of colors in the dress (gifted from Italy).

just some few pics from past few days, Friday watching game with gals/ Saturday was all about hanging around parks/ Sunday at an open-air charity event/ plus R's vintage Batman tee, some inspo, lunching and mocha frappe'ing, all week is a weekend!

fashion is art, art is fashion those two worlds have always intertwined so magically and it is most visible in oh so many 2012 collections, take Prabal Gurung my current fave among fashion designers. This blouse from WHISTLES  adds an edgy dash of eccentric opulence of its pattern to my closet plus it screams Pollock. and Pollock I love.
